Patagonia is Smartass for "South America." Though if continent, country, and city names were the same between annexed realities, it would either get confusing, or irritating. All those "primes" and "twos" and whatnot.

Also, holy shit SO MANY WORDS. An accurate (if lengthy-lengthy) summary of one arc of the next four chapters. Holy crap!

And I thought it was wordy the first time around.

WHEW. I am SO glad this page is DONE. Too much line art. Too much background generation. Backgrounds spread over three days- Daedalus bridge yesterday and the day before, the final details on the video rack today. Line art spread over two days- everything but Raven and the last panel was done on Friday, at which point my brain promptly exploded like a low-grade atomic test. Too much, too much, too fucking much.

Tried recutting the page to reduce the panel count. Too much. Tried reworking the compoosition to maximize existing assets and avoid having to draw anything more with an eye towards getting the page done Friday night. Too much, too much. Wet splatty sounds from the skullmeats. Stopped production around ten with the first five panels having backgrounds and line work input. Took a breather, during which I tried to figure out how the hell to minimize the burn and get my head back on straight. Resolved to Finish The Fucking Page On Saturday No Matter What on the grounds that nothing in the world sucks more than an incomplete page. Went home and played Warcraft.

Resumed work around four. Shaded and finished the first five panels. Got my Quake on for a few minutes. Ate a bagel. Drew the line art for the remaining two that needed it- the page had caused me so much shit by this time that I'd be damned if I was going to compromise on a lesser product. Better to hate it on its technical flaws than to hate it for its technical flaws and the fact that I compromised and cut things. Colored and dropped in Raven and Greg and that chunk of Naomi's head and got those panels finished. Did the background for West, got West finished. Breathe.

I really hope there aren't any typos. :P

That's production anxiety in a nutshell. One of those things that happens when I'm strung out and am trying to process a hell of a lot more than I can effectively deal with in the time allotted.

Fortunately, not all pages are this much of a slog. :)
