Greg's gotten a bit more chiseled.
This is the second time the layout has been reworked. The first time was to replace Extreme{ly Bad} Eye Closeups with vehicle shots. Or rather, implied vehicle shots. This time, the layout has been reworked for better narrative flow - something I can do now that all of The Dualist CG assets have been created.
Also, the first of the major Daedalus re-renders. I'm using the same method I used for the first chapter of Transitional Voices, and more importantly, I've decided to ditch the binary paint scheme. This means large amounts of this chapter are going to be re-rendered. As long as the end result is made of awesome, I'm fine with that.
Also, yay for red shift!
The Daedalus was going to be "announced" in panel two, but after tons of mucking around, it never felt right. It'll be "announced" properly in the scene after next - this bit isn't about ships or locations, anyway - it's between Grij and Greg and could just as easily take place in Toronto and Paris.

Edited 20070721 : Revised to scale and adjusted slightly.
Edited 20050524 : Yeek, starting to run short of May here. Hopefully I can put a serious dent in what I still need to accomplish with the Chapter Two Edits before June creeps up on me.
Removed two more Godsdamned Eyes - in this case replacing them with location and destination images, which scrubs out any sort of confusion in that regard. Transitions fairly well from the last page of Chapter One, though I would have liked to have done some nifty things with a few more pages- a luxury I may afford myself in a future project.
Color adjustments make the page more consistent with the rest of the scene, and the aesthetics of the second and third panels are consistent with the "new" hyperspace visualizations as seen later in the chapter.
I had originally planned on redoing the entire page while keeping the original line work- adding a few more panels, doing it higher rez, etceteras... but I kept hanging up on how to "fill" the space properly and realized that replacing the eyeballs with their respective location and destination accomplished the same thing, while saving a shitload of time. Given the rest of the scene, it's something I don't mind compromising on... and yet another reason Zero starts everything off. :P
Oh, and Greg has fingernails now. The lack thereof was bugging me.

Man, I'm glad I've gotten over the eyeball thing.

And we're go. Bryan, get your ass to Kung Fu class. :)
Feels interesting, like a head rush- chapter two is finally in production. You'll notice a number of changes in style approach- the shading process has improved, I'm using a number three micron instead of a number five, and there's a humongous amount of under the hood changes in terms of scheduling and approach.
No more fly by wire- it's all premeditated from here on. For the most part.
Get in and fasten your seatbelts.
Oh, and yes. Zero gravity.
20:52 < ejp> ATC without boobs? I don't understand.
There are, of course, some errors... nothing's ever perfect. ;-)
