Fortunately, pretty much every change I'd intended to make to this page was made with the original editing run on the first edition. That left the usual run of scaling and cropping - in this case, I applied far looser tolerances than I usually do. In part to match with the rest of the scene and in part because DEAR GID LOOK AT ALL THOSE BENDY BITS. Working with guides and gutters is easy enough with 90° angles, but a multitude of 45° is a kind of tedium I'd prefer not to deal with.
Disclaimer - a few hours ago (it's presently 25 May 2009, around 7pm) I put the smack down on clarity and transition... and promptly realized that if I uploaded everything as-is, I'd be stuck with a vagina joke on the top page of the site for the indefinite future.

Ugh.
One of those nights where I plow into the page, everything's going good, I hit the last panel (in this case, the shot of the mirrorshades), the whole mess trainwrecks and I spend hours doing what effectively amounts to turd polishing. It would, in fact, take even more time to go back and do it right- and by this point I'm so sick of looking at the fucking page that I just want to go out to the bar and drink it.
I've hit points like this in the past, usually smack in the middle of a scene- I'll wind up cranking out a couple of pages that suck shit through a straw, get depressed, and stop working on the comic for awhile. Fortunately in this case, there's one page left of the scene and my personal deadline for it is Saturday. Maybe it's burnout. Maybe it's other factors- I've spent part of the last four hours alternatively being annoyed that I forgot to tell a friend a show we were going to on Thursday was rescheduled for tonight (slipped my mind on account of having scheduled myself to work on this regardless), and annoyed that I'd forgotten I'd sort of made other plans for tonight. Non-comic plans.
Oh, and I still need to pay bills. :P
I have my off {days|weeks|months}. Fortunately, I managed to crank out thirteen decent to goodish pages before my brain took a shit. I should probably slow down a bit, at least for a few days. Rather or not I force myself to take a short break will depend on how the next page turns out. If it's ass, then I'm taking myself off of the project for ~72 hours to recharge.

Update: Upon further review, it turns out that page ~14 is where I crapped out or started having problems in both chapters one and two. In chapter one, that was actually page ~12- Xand's first appearance. One of a very small number of pages I've actually had to scratch and start over. For chapter two, I got partway into polarity and just totally lost it for a few pages.
At least this time around, things are a lot more solidly planned out than they were on either occasion.
