Like the previous page, extensively reworked - in this case, some background buildup for panel two and a flat-out scale and tweak of the background for panel four. I've also tweaked the linework in three to make the veil transition look... well... more like a veil transition, starting with "in" on the left and "out" on the right. West actually has irises now, the ickier bits of Tantek's linework have been cleaned up, and the page generally flows a bit better.

Also fun - re-removing the vent divots above T's optics - those were present for a few pages and then, unlike Raven's jacket pips... I forgot 'em. For years. Easier to re-remove than to add in to all the pages they don't appear on. I started to get crazy with the cleanup, a la the early pages of Chapter One... but managed to hold myself to only the most major issues, fortunately. This scene is so rife with art gaffes that to give it the full treatment would take... well, awhile. It's a habit I'll need to break if I'm to get this thing done in a reasonable amount of time.

I've talked about this a lot in the rework blurbs, as opposed to the "whatever else" of the original production run - fact is, I'm working on scenes en masse and that leaves little headspace to think about anything other than the size of the pile in front of me, how slowly it's going down, everything left to do, redo, rework, rewrite... all the flaws, flaws, flaws. Hopefully there'll be less of that when I hit chapter five and begin adapting the newer material.

20070722 : Scaled, relettered, and degayed. Tantek's "suit computer" was in there to fill space more than anything else. I was quite happy when I found that those bits could be cleanly excised!

Edited 20050621 : Removed some detail above Tantek's optics, as said bit only appears on this page and the next. Oops!

Well. This one took a bit longer than usual, for a few reasons. The main one being that Tantek is considerably more complicated than Xand to draw, and I made something of a mess of the pencils. This resulted in inking taking a large amount of time. Creating color palettes for both Tantek and West took a few minutes, and the rest of it was just droning in Photoshop. Good thing I didn't have any other plans tonight. :) More type and background experiments, as you may have noticed. Don't worry, I'll have my head pulled out of my ass soon enough.

First comic with the server in the colo instead of bda's bedroom. Woop!

I'll post Characters section images for Tantek and West soon- I'm not down for sampling from this page, as they're not exactly money shots, so to speak.

In other news..... Chibi Porn, for anyone interested. Also, I had a brief phoner with bda today regarding bandwidth, advertising prices, potential amount of reamage hastur will get, etceteras. Then I called Homeslice and hassled him. About chibi porn, naturally. Phone calls about two projects, both technically business related. Both technically a tax writeoff. :D
