convergence -9-

2009.07.20.01:07 : xeno just notified me that I'd somehow FORGOTTEN TO UPLOAD THIS PAGE. So, here it is!
No substantial changes... unnecessary panel cutouts have been removied; the back of panel three was raised a bit, scale is more-or-less the same... and there's a truckload more dialogue. So. Many. Words. When this scene was first written, the universe was a tad anemic - skeletal, even - now that it's all grown up, the challenge is figuring out which bits get mentioned and which don't. Too much and it sounds forced; not enough and it sounds like I'm pulling plot out of my ass later.

20070722 : Scaled, reworded, and altered a bit for (written) continuity. The previous edit is here.
Edited 20050504 : Didn't notice the problems with the data Raven's displaying until I was repositioning pages in order to fit convergence -21- into the hardcopy. To cut a long story short, visual continuity was totally fucked and now it isn't. \o/
Also did some rext repositioning and a load of itty bitty little cleanup tweaks.

The flaws I noticed in the hardcopy aren't as obvious in the web version, but trust me - they're there.

Happy Solstice, I think. Happy me meeting my self-imposed deadline with three and a half hours to spare. :D
Yesterday was the Mega Ultra Death hangover, which lasted in some capacity from the time I awoke at around ten (early for me) to when I went to bed, which was around nine this morning. I spent a chunk of Friday on the phone with my parents, got a deadline from my supervisor (FINALLY!), and basically felt like shit and was totally depressed for a good chunk of it. I never really snapped out of this until I slept it off - and even now I'm still waking up - but around nine I realized I'd better get my ass in gear. It was totally Blade Runner outside, there was no way in fuck I was going to be making any of the holiday celebrations, and I had nothing better to do - I was waiting for Blake's 7 and had already experienced Metropolis, which wasn't what I'd call a joyous experience by any stretch of the word. It's cool that way.
I wonder if you'll find it as odd as I do that this page took almost as long as the one previous, despite the vast reduction in line work and the advance preparation in terms of the painting on the wall.
This'll be a nice little test of the lexicon- if you need things like geostat and EVA explained, you obviously aren't reading enough science fiction. Or really paying attention to what's going on up there.
So. Webcomic's about a month old. Go me, go me. :D
