It was right around here that I'd originally written a big chunky rant about how I'd made an Executive Decision to not replace the Daedalus on account of it being Too Much Work. While I was somewhere in the middle of chewing up my verb quota, I figured I'd check, just to see. It turned out to be a lot easier than I'd expected - so much easier, in fact, that I went back around and redid all of the ship renders before winding up back here, where the mulling began.

Linework and shading only took about three to three and a half hours - working at a sluggish pace tonight, as it's one of those THERE IS NO SUN 100% humidity misty shit-things that envelope this town for days or weeks - sometimes even months. Bleh.
The rest of the page was done on the fourth - the type effects are the mind-numbing sort of tedium that propelled me in a DCR direction... but damn, they look nifty.
