Panel one - Daedalus replaced.

Keeping the center of panel six aligned is one thing - consistency, etceteras - but having held to that in this case would have meant that Greymalkin wouldn't have been staring at Xand's butt anymore.

And that just can't happen.

20090904 (15) - Lettered.

Technical point : The Daedalus is coming in on a Geomagnet, a chunk of blackbox voodoo that circumvents certain bits of physics in order to interact directly with the planetary magnetic field. The power it takes to run the thing blasts white noise across large parts of the common communications spectrum - not unlike hitting the power button on a Nintendo in close proximity to an FM radio. This is why there's noise on the link between Raven and Greymalkin and no sound of the Daedalus engines, since they're not actually doing anything.

That aside... I'm getting quite a bit of mileage out of this layout, which pleases me to no end - I should be able to squeeze one more page out of it, after which thing's'll slow right the heck down as I chunk out new renders to finish the scene.

Originally, the last panel was supposed to be Xand zipping up her boots, but it turns out that the righthand panel is about six (relative) inches off of the ground... so rather than suffer a six hour re-render, I opted for the much tastier booty shot instead. A humorous side affect of this is that it looks like third-panel Greymalkin is getting an eyefull.
