Aug 02, 2009 - Scaled with quite a bit of cropping - panels four and five haven't suffered much, but the loss of whitespace in panels one and two means I may have to go back and rework the scaling a bit. It depends on how much dialogue this pages ends up with.

Obviously I'm still having issues with the whole "drawing hands" thing. Just be glad I didn't draw panel two front or side from crotch level, kthks.
Normally, I'd be able to knock a page like this out in one night. For some reason, this one took THREE. Panels and backgrounds on Monday, after which I ran off for a coffee date that had been rescheduled from last week. I figured I'd get to pencils, etc. on Tuesday, but Tuesday had other plans for me - plans involving a dead hard drive, a dead ethernet card, a bitchy DVD-R (or perhaps a bitchy firewire controller, don't know don't care) and several hours of ARGH! along with a full spectrum of biochemical issues that ended with a series of buffer underruns on one of my home machines (a failing Maxtor hard drive, fancy that) and the annihilation of a bottle of Gin.
Leaving anything half-done for any amount of time always causes horrid amounts of mental strain - I'm afraid that if I don't finish it NOW NOW NOW then it'll never EVER be done, EVER. Or in the case of the dealing-with-dead-hardware last night, I know that if I don't finish it NOW NOW NOW then it'll STILL BE HERE tomorrow.
Anyway, I Did The Page Dammit. I win - and I'm still basically on schedule.
King was in original version of descent, which was cut from a semi-epic twelve page "fade in" down to five pages of Just The Facts after it became clear that the resources needed to do the longer scene Correctly just weren't available (nor will they be, for some months). Later (hindsight pwnzj00z) it became obvious that the longer scene would have caused more problems than it solved.... so it's all good.
