Panels five and six got a bit taller; everything else is pretty much the same.

It would appear that when I decided to name the scene "details," I wasn't kidding. At all. Here's a closeup of a chunk of panel two:

I'd tried to work something similar into descent, but it didn't work out, for whatever reason. The original "long" version of the scene opened with a blackhawk flying over the remains of the millenia-old battlefield that is the third instance of Australia, with character monologue as sort of an "intro credits" - something that I wound up scrapping for several reasons. Editing doesn't change ATC history, or the remains. So, there's ruins in them thar hills, etc.
I find it amusing that modeling the bits I'll need for the rest of the scene has proven to be so tedious that doing the last page of the sub-scene was more appealing - and much less hazardous to my health.* Once I've got the script and layouts and reusable components, chunking out a page becomes something that is done, like smoking or breathing - getting a scene to that point, on the other hand, involves a good bit of planning, tons of hassle, and the occasional night of getting my ass beat by shoddy input devices.
So. It'll be a few days at least - most likely at least a week - before I can continue the scene. When I get rolling on page five, I won't be stopping until the thing is done.
Until then, King flipping off Tantek is "above the fold." :D

* I used a mouse yesterday. For something like fourteen hours. Since I'm used to a trackball, my right wrist is annoyed and my right index finger currently feels like it's been wrapped with sixteen inches of wet masking tape. Line art stresses the other hand, and I'm much more comfortable with trackballs, so it didn't take much effort to figure out how I was spending the day. Also, "health" would be in the pulse-having sense, as opposed to the "not feeling like boiled ass" sense.
