Same as the previous page - I love single panel reformats. They're so easy.

Edited 20050605 : I'll be damned if this doesn't just totally blow the doors off of the original. I mentioned shortly after I fixed the fishnets in the rest of the scene that I'd left this page alone for a reason - and now you know what I had in mind for it.

More continuity, less dialogue, and the "omfgwtf" of First Contact hits a hell of a lot harder.

Frankly, I'm surprised that this came out as well as it did, as today's been a total clusterfuck otherwise.

A longish ranthing followed but I decided to remove it. You don't need any more of my issues than I've already inflicted. Really, you don't.

Historical note : The original polarity 8 and 9 - Dualist 216 and 217 - mark the Very First attempt at a two page spread. Prior to these two pages I hadn't paid attention to page flow at all, and it shows. It took me awhile to get the hang of it, but I'm starting to get a good understanding of Teh Powah Of Layout... which is quite a bit of what I'm correcting for with The Edit.

Original DEAR GODS THE WANKERY:

Technical synopsis of page 17:

Pencils were done with a technical pencil I found in my backpack at the Lava Lounge on Thursday, 04 December. The lighting sucked raging rancid horse cock, though Val turned out excellent in spite of operating conditions. I started a pencil rough of the bathroom background, but the perspective was, to say the least, fucked.

The pencils were inked and scanned at work on the fifth. Base corrections and coloring were performed- this was done late at night after a bout of sugar shock. Materials transferred to laptop.

Saturday the sixth, the wacom tablet and iMate were dug up. Extensions were turned on, and the powerbook was set up as a graphics workstation around four thirty. The wacom was used for the song lyrics, and for all shading on the backgrounds. Character shading was done using the standard method. At approximately 19:40 hours, a plague of extremely obnoxious assholes stormed the beehive and completely destroyed anything resembling productive energy, or an air condusive to concentration. Fortunately by this time, the page was effectively finished. Ran a quick check for typos and changed a bit of the dialogue. Realized I really need to do laundry- hopefully this is something other people have noticed as well, which should keep the asshats at bay.

19:53: time to seal up, load up, make some phone calls, and get the hell out of dodge. Pages sixteen and seventeen will be posted whenever I make it home to do so.
