Given the spatial arrangement of the central panel, it made more sense to simply increase the headroom than it would have to build up either the top or bottom panels. This has also created more than enough space to ditch the "fake" paneling used to split up the conversation in previous editions.

20070724 : Rewritten for continuity.
Edited 20050430 : Moved the text around so it reads clearly. The original version had a flow problem whereby one had a tendency to read in a clockwise loop, which put Tantek's last line of dialogue out of context with John's (unless you're one of those types who reads strictly one-panel-at-a-time left-to-right).
Also made a very minor tweak to John's shirt.

Considering I did all of this under the influence of this year's version of The Plague, I'm fairly pleased with the results.... though holy CRAP was this FRUSTRATING in the line art department- I did the inkwork the day before the composite and coloring, as usual, and it took, oh...... about five THOUSAND hours. And I wound up redrawing the comm tower from a different angle and at a different scale before I started on assembly anyway. The orginal is ultra mega ass. :)
Also, I'm fairly certain I've found a much less ass way to draw West's hair- we'll see how that pans out through the duration of velocity.
