signal -4-

A fine line measured in hours, unfortunately - after adjusting the layout to the new dimensions, re-lettering (from a pre-existing rewrite) and cleanup... SO MUCH CLEANUP... my day is shot, it's Beer O'Clock and I still need to shower.
But hey, the page looks better and reads better. Hopefully future edits will take less time to edit than they did to create.
The background is "proper" splash size - hardcopy will have a nice thick border around each page - this thing fit for width but not for height. Them's the breaks!

20070722 : Minor dialogue tweaks and major graphics replacement. The old heavily-edited 3ds Max Default Earth and hand-drawn Cheops have been replaced with much sexier renders.
See? Much nicer than previous.

No, you didn't miss anything. I upped signal -3- a moment ago. I know, I'm a bastard. Trust me, it's easier this way.
Technically speaking, the Cheops is in the veil- exactly halfway between 1.0 and 2.0, from which the entirety of both layers can be seen. It's a bit confusing at times, especially in populated areas. Things aren't all yellow/orange/firey/GLOWOMFGy because the Cheops is "parked" at this depth- she's neither ascending nor descending. Veil visual effects occur only when "moving" between strata.
This is the second page of Yet Another Two Page Spread. It's probably only a matter of time until I start spanning linework, and not just the aesthetic composition. :P
That's space beer floating around in the background. And the Templar don't have a formal aesthetics code, beyond "wear the uniform when you're on duty, dammit." In this respect, they're a hell of a lot more lax than any other military body known to exist, with the possible exception of Heirotus- both organizations know that there are a lot of places where high and tight hair and a lack of tattoos are just as detrimental as wearing a swastika to a Bar Mitzvah.
Not my best line work- I started to feel the strain near the end of the pencilling (see the "anatomy" of Polaski, above), and fell down near the ass end of the inking (see panel three of the previous page). If I'm trying to get an entire page done in one day, quality suffers when I try to do more than six or so illustrations- one of the reasons that pages used to be on a two-day schedule. My hand basically exploded- fortunately I have a three day weekend with which to recover. :P Hopefully it doesn't take that long- the less time this page spends on the top of the site, the better.
