20090814 (18) - Raising panel one up a good bit allowed everything else to fit together nicely. One raised; the remainder scaled.

Exposition! Holy shit!
There are minor composition issues with panels two and three, but given the overall complexity and the extent of matte/alpha masking work, I'm pretty pleased with the results. One of the nice technical perks of the maintenance truck is I can pull it apart any one of two dozen ways, so I can set up just about any shot I want. Unlike the police car, which was a total pain to work with.
You know what that last panel signifies - scene change! The next page is a real zinger, but the five after are cake compared to the last four.

09:35 < mdxi> exposition holy shit indeed
09:35 < solios> explains a bit, doesn't it?
09:37 < solios> (personally, I love greymalkin's blowoff to ornix pushing the question. that could have easily been a longwineded flashback-filled chart/piegraph loaded speech)
09:38 < mdxi> i've never minded what you've been doing. i much prefer _in media res_ and having things organically fall into place, rather than being beaten about the skull with exposition to start things off
09:38 < mdxi> but still, you may have set a new record for that sort of thing
09:39 < mdxi> 300 pages to first, obvious, universe lynchpin that lets things settle into place
