A bit more subtle than the previous edition, to be sure - but the previous edition was also a drop into Broad Daylight, whereas here it's pre-dawn... so something a little less BLAM! is called for.
The first version of the page was the first appearance of the textured version of the ship - up to this point the ship (the first first time around, not the second first time around) was either flat gray or badly "textured" in photoshop, so a nice big money shot was something I wanted. A nice big FUCK YEAH! to celebrate my efforts.
This time around it's Just Another Render. Woo!

Ladies and Gentlemen: The Daedalus.
An end run with Chris - he finalized coordinates and tweaked some vertices and I did the last of the mapping this evening. We started work on it way back in August, I started mapping it back in June, and what little is left of the outside won't be of consequence for several weeks.
:D.
This is the culmination of months of work- a few hours here, a few hours there... more time than I care to measure. My first extensive collaboration, too - I could NOT have done this without Chris.
So, yeah.
Breaktime! Then I'll update the spec sheet, etceteras.
22:50 <xeno_zzz> goddammit, if you don't stop using miles, i'm going to scream
22:51 <xeno_zzz> miles makes NO sense for atmospheric nor space flight
22:51 <xeno_zzz> it barely makes sense for common measurement
